We are currently seeking to hire individuals to assist with tele-interviewing.
Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position performs telephone interviews with insurance applicants for the purposes of providing accurate risk assessment information.
- Complete telephone interview requests with insurance applicants. Asks questions in a consistent format for all applicants according to established guidelines.
- Compile interview information into appropriate forms. Ensure the accuracy of applicant information obtained through structured conversations.
- Maintain time-service, quality and production goals using good work queue management and customer service skills.
- Maintain a high level of customer service skills. Present a friendly and professional demeanor to enhance the client experience.
- Obtains pertinent underwriting information from producers and prospective insurers to assist underwriter in risk analysis of accounts.
- Provides technical support and service to the underwriters as part of the underwriting team while maintaining daily interaction with agents and insurance applicants.
- Reviews prospective application data and gathers information needed to correctly classify, process paperwork, quote and issue policies to insurance applicants.
- Assists the underwriter by gathering medical and non-medical risk assessment data.
- Performs multiple tasks simultaneously, change tasks, perform tedious exacting work, adheres to deadlines to meet production standards and works closely with others as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of business office practices and procedures, spelling and business math.
- The tele-interviewer handles a high volume of continuous telephone calls and gathers needed information in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in training sessions for assigned projects or for new procedure initiatives.
- Other duties or special projects may be as assigned as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma
- 6 months related work experience
Additional Qualifications
- Flexible schedule needed to work weekend and evening hours.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational / multi-tasking skills
- Customer service experience essential
- Call center (high volume) experience highly desired
- Medical terminology background a plus
- Strong computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
